Halloween

So Halloween has come and gone and I wonder who decided it would be a great idea to dress up the kids and go ask the neighbors for candy. Rush had to be Batman. It was not my first choice, but I am allowing him to make some choices at very specific times and this was one of those times. He told us weeks ago that he wanted to be a referee and all the sudden at the end of last week he wanted to be Batman who he knows nothing about. I figured that Batman was a good guy though not as cute and original as a referee, but I could live with that. I didn't get a whole lot of pics of him but everybody else did. I was answering the door during picture time. Hopefully that fam will send some over. Cousin Zachary was a pirate, argh! They went down all of our street and the next one and can I say we didn't really get any of my favorite candy! Oh yeah and we know every person on these two streets that has a dog and of course they had to ask to pet them. If you really want to be entertained for a time you should hang out with Rush and Zachary for any length of time. I am almost scared of what they will do when they are older!

Sweet Mason didn't really have a costume until late. He doesn't know about it yet so why make a big deal? He did have to have a costume though which is a problem in itself. The costumes you buy in the store are made for Halloween in places where it is cold and I have seen the day when little guys were sweating in their costumes but moms put them on anyway because she had already bought it and there had to be a costume. I thought about something like a scarecrow, or Bob the Builder or a fireman with the stuff that we already had, but no matter what I did I couldn't complete the outfit. So I got to thinking about Mason's favorite thing to do and decided that it was to eat and then I recalled that he loves to bang on my pots and pans and thus the cook was born. I made his apron in about five minutes and gave him a spoon and he loved it! The thing on his head was actually his bag for candy, but somebody put it on his head and he loved it, he didn't need candy anyway. THe bags were another story all together. We couldn't find our pumpkin buckets and of course I waited until the last minute and they were napping and that is too good to mess with. I called daddy for help and he said "can't you just make them something?" therefore the bags.
