I really have some stories to tell. Sometimes I wonder if people just watch me with my boys and laugh, or pray for me. So today it all started when we woke up to rain. Rain is never a good thing when you have three preschoolers and you need to go somewhere, unless you are talking about the Chickfila drive through and for that, rain is acceptable. It's our last day of preschool for the week and all the way there I am thinking about my different options to get the kids inside. I can actually think in the car because the big boys are happily watching a praise and worship video. I've decided that I can tolerate the TV on in the car if I actually enjoy what they are watching without actually being able to see it, worship videos are great. Anyway, we pull into the parking lot, late as usual, and decide that it is raining enough that I don't need to deal with three kids in the parking lot. I pull up to the overhang and three other moms that I teach with are letting kids out as well. I decide that the big boys should get out and let me walk them to the playroom where they hang out while the moms get their rooms ready. The dilemma here is that I have to walk them to the point where the playroom teacher can see them and I can still see Sawyer who is in the car. I am only 8 feet from him which means I have to trust the other two to walk through a door and go about 15 feet without me being able to see them into the playroom where I can see them again. They made it and the rain slacked enough after we parked for me and Sawyer to make it in with my raincoat and the little shades on his seat and stroller showing just a few raindrops. Whew! But guess what we had to repeat the whole thing when school got out! Oh and we had to go to the Doctor's office for Sawyer's shots that he couldn't get last Monday because he had hives! He couldn't get them last Friday because he had an ear infection. So to the doctor I go for the third time in less than two weeks with 3 kids, in the rain. Feel sorry for me yet? Oh and by the way going anywhere after school without naps is never a good thing. I'm sure we were quite comical in the parking lot because we only had one umbrella and I was carrying the baby seat and Mason while Rush held the umbrella. You can't take in the stroller because there isn't enough room in there for it all. Did I mention that I was having problems getting my remote to close the door? We have been inside 20 minutes or so and they have asked us the same questions about our insurance, home address and phone number, and emergency contact that they asked us both times last week. "It's still the same" doesn't work as the appropriate answer by the way, you have to fully answer each question. Mason, being tired, is really loud and wants to talk about every picture and climb on every chair. Sawyer wants to eat and Rush wanted to play. While I reminded Rush how to play inside the doctor's office and fed Sawyer, Mason decided to spit, yes I sad spit, on every empty chair on the well side. I marched him up to the front and got some Kleenex and asked for something to clean those chairs with and made him wipe every chair off and I followed with alcohol wipes. We have now sat for 30 minutes, not to see a doctor, but just to see a nurse for shots. This man walks in with his kids and begins going through the 20 questions games with the front desk ladies when I hear him mention that there is a red van in the parking lot with it's side door fully open. Guess who's car that was? Mine! Now it's still raining and I have three kids inside and my remote doesn't work very well at a distance. What to do... I did the half of my body in and half of it out the door thing with one eye on the kids and the other on the car trying to make it work and praying that it will close so I don't have to drag all three of them out in the rain again. Please keep in mind that there are other parents in the lobby all of which came in after I did and only one noticed that there was a door open. Oh and there is a security guard out there as well that watched me come in with the kids. One of my spiritual gifts is helps, but apparently I was not among like gifted people today. That's OK, I made it and I promise to use my gifts. The shots were OK, he only cried a little. We made it out of there without breaking anything or loosing anybody. I decided Target was out of the question. We made it home and we are having a perfectly normal afternoon with the same amount of tears, hurt feelings and timeouts as normal. The day goes on. I am sure there will be another adventure tomorrow. Hopefully we can have the house picked up by the time Brian gets home since I don't have a wonderful meal fixed for dinner. I don't want him to wonder what we did all day! I am thankful for the gifts that God has given me in my children. I love each one of them unconditionally and am blessed to have them. I wouldn't trade them and the craziness for anything!

Ugh!!!

Do you ever have those days where you wish you could go back to the beginning and just start over? Today has been one of those days. It has been by far the worst day in 2010 for me. Where to begin... Nobody has been sleeping good. Sawyer has his first ear infection and is a little sniffly at night since he still sleeps in my room, I hear the sniffles all night long. Mason has the cough that is keeping him from sleeping good so when he wakes up he comes to our room. If Rush wakes up and realizes that Mason isn't in the room he goes looking for him. So at about 3:30 or so this morning everyone is in the bed with me and Brian. Queen size beds are not for 5 people. Brian relocated them, but after a while Mason came back. Sawyer wakes up really early to eat, but goes back to sleep. Just when I get good and asleep again the alarm goes off. I avoided it as long as possible, but had to get up. Immediately the routine kicks in... check the weather, turn on the oven for breakfast, check my email, do some dishes, iron clothes, put breakfast in the oven, shower, get dressed, bathe a child, dress 3 children (well dress one and stay on the others 2 so they will actually get dressed), pack lunches, make bottles, pack bags, tie shoes and load the car. Somewhere in there I think I moved some laundry from the washer to the dryer, broke up a few fights and dried some tears. While I was fixing lunches Mason poured sprite on the kitchen floor which of course had to be partially cleaned up before I could leave. Rush walked around for 15 minutes with one sock on because he "couldn't get the other on" which worked out because the other would have gotten wet from the Sprite. So we load up the car and about 20 minutes off schedule we were able to pull out of the garage. Did I mention that Mason also got the Sprite on his pants and I didn't even notice it until I was buckling him in and at this point it was too late to change his clothes. Anyway, off to school we go. Please keep in mind that I am not just taking them to school I actually work at the school so I am also late for work. The ride there was uneventful and even unloading the car was uneventful. Don't you know though that when you are late you always get caught. Not that I was trying to sneak in, but it would just be better if it wasn't blatantly obvious that I was really late. I dropped the kids off with no problem clocked in at the exact time I should have been unloading carpool and headed on my way. Sawyer is a gem through all of this craziness by the way. Needless to say at this point I am just not myself. During my first class, chapel, my CD player acts up and somehow I had copied the songs onto a CD in a different order than I had written down so I can't find my song. It's bad when 2 and 3 year olds look at you like you are an idiot. I couldn't find the tape I needed for my lesson, but in the end they sang praise to God and learned about loving GOd with your whole heart. As if the day wasn't bad enough the next class came into music and it just happened to be Rush's class. They were scattered around my room and I called them over to me to sit in front of me and Rush sat down and as soon as he did Chloe tripped over him and fell. Immediately there were tears and I saw some blood. I heard her hit, but couldn't really tell at first what had happened. I picked her up to comfort her and saw blood on her lip and thought that it wasn't too bad because I didn't see a gash or anything. I put her on the stage and then I saw this stream of blood. I sent Rush to go get Mrs. Terry and Marlee Grace to get me another paper towel and then I saw where it was coming from, her chin was completely gashed open and there was a definite need for stitches. Good thing that I know her mom since she works at the church. Amanda was close and she is laid back, a freak out would not have been good. We got her taken care of and I realized I have blood all over me, not just on my clothes, but all over me. Oh well, at least the child is ok. Rush was so worried that he did something wrong, but he didn't. His heart just aches for other people, he was worried. You have to love filling out paperwork stating that a child was hurt in your presence. Did I mention that all of this happened before 11 am. The rest of school was uneventful and of course my CD player never acted properly for the rest of the day. THe journey home was pretty good. Mason fell asleep, but didn't transfer when we got home. A two year old with a 20 minute power nap might very well be harder to handle than one that hasn't taken a nap. Sawyer is an angel and all Rush wants to do is play the Wii with his class mascot who got to come home with him today. Leo the Lion did not know what he was in for when he rode home in the Lachina van. He was content to hang out and was doing so until I found him swimming in the washing machine! I had the top open and was letting the water get hot for the towels I was getting out of the next room and when I came back there was Leo. You know the animals from the cat family don't like water and Leo came home with a note specifically saying he doesn't need to take a bath with you. Right now he is being fluffed in the dryer and I am praying that it all turns out ok. At this point I called Brian and told him that he need not be delayed in his arrival home from work. Rush still hasn't noticed Leo isn't playing the Wii with him and maybe he won't. There are still a few more hours in the day so who knows what else will happen!

Trying to catch up

Needless to say I have been very busy lately. The boys are doing great. Brian and I aren't too sleep deprived, but we could always use a nap. Rush is growing up and has become a wonderful helper to me. Mason is going through the terrible two's and is just the slightest bit moody these days. He does love "Sawyer baby" though. Sawyer is doing great as well. He is growing and sleeping as well as starting to laugh and play. As you could imagine there isn't much spare time around here. The only reason I am even able to do this now is because I have had a little too much caffeine. After months of no caffeine my body likes to stay awake after I drink my tea or Dr.Pepper. This has never happened before! Caffeine never used to phase me, but after a short hiatus I guess I have to get used to it again. Maybe I am just getting old! Anyway, three boys is very busy, but also very rewarding. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family. I don't thank him enough for them. I promise to try and post more often, but we will see if I can follow through!

The Boys

<img src='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gZ6fTO0_OwU/S1Kz8CNSzyI/AAAAAAAABv4/sATd2OJZCW0/s320/DSC02456.JPG' border='0' alt=''style='clear:both;float:left; margin:0px 10px 10px 0;' />

Not much happening here

Well, it has been a few weeks since I updated my blog. Laura congratulated me on blogging more often and then I just slowed it down again. Not much is happening here. Same old same old really. Mason has picked up a new phrase to say, "oh my gosh". Lovely huh? He got it from me on one of those days where you step out of a perfectly calm situation and room to do something simple for just a minute and come back to mass chaos. I don't even remember what they did , but it truly deserved an "oh my gosh". So now I spend time every day trying to get him to say oh my goodness instead of oh my gosh every time he says it. Hopefully he will forget about it soon. Rush had a funny on the way home from church on Sunday though. He was in his car seat recapping the day when he all the sudden got serious and looked at his legs and said, "Mommy, I don't like this furry stuff on my legs." Brian and I go a good laugh at that one. We both decided it was a good thing that he doesn't know he has furry stuff on his back as well. I almost forgot to mention that Rush had a marriage proposal last week at school His friend Claire has really taken to him this summer and called him a prince and her a princess. She told him he was to protect her and finally asked him to marry her. Rush's response was "let me ask Jack about that". Too funny. I have always thought he was precious, but I guess certain 4 year old girls do as well. Brian and Claire's dad know each other from high school and we saw him at church on Sunday. We collectively decided that it could be worse and we promised to raise our kids right just in case this does pan out in the future. As far as the baby goes, things are good with him, however my iron is low, big surprise, and my heart has had a few moments of racing along with my blood pressure being slightly elevated for me. All that to say I have had an EKG, an echoocardiogram, and am wearing a heart monitor for 24 hours. Fun! They are just checking things out and don't have any real concerns at this point. We will see what the tests all say. In the mean time, Mason wants to fix these stickers that are part of the monitor and take off these wires. They are quite attractive I must say. I am going to have a real problem tomorrow finding a shirt that covers them up. There are four wires and sticky things. Two of them are right below my collar bone and one is slightly lower in the middle of my chest, but all are very visible with any normal shirt because they stick out of the neck of the shirt. I will be such a fashion statement tomorrow. How many of my preschoolers do you think are going to ask about them. Oh, and they aren't helping how hot I am right now. They probably aren't making me sweat, but it sure does seem hotter since I put them on.

Happy Birthday Mason!

Happy 2nd Birthday Mason! It is hard to believe that he is 2 today! It is never all about Mason so I decided to do a little blogging just about him. He is feeling much better for his big day. We had to cancel his little party yesterday because he had been running a fever since Friday night. He didn't even get to enjoy the Rush family 4th of July party. Kind of sad! He is doing much better now and acting like a normal 2 year old. We will have to reschedule is party for this weekend. He has already opened his presents from us and MeMaw and Jim. Rush helped Mason open and enjoy his presents. He is currently enjoying his Elmo Summer Vacation DVD. I think this is his first DVD of his own. He also got his first "big twuck" to go with our very large GeoTrax set. I made cinnamon rolls with dip, as Mason says, for breakfast. He loves his dip! It could be icing dip, or yogurt dip or chicken dip it doesn't matter dip just makes eating fun. Maybe I will have to find some kind of dip for lunch. After all he is the birthday boy! Happy Birthday Mason! We love you!

Praying for the Alaniz Family

My friend Anna that I teach preschool with delivered her twin boys today. To tell you about Anna she is about my height with a teeny tiny frame and she carried twin boys to 36 weeks. The babies were both around 6 pounds and for there to be two that big is unbelievable! They induced her labor today and there were a few issues that sent her to an emergency C section. To make a long story short, the boys are good, one is having a little bit of help with his breathing but no major concerns. However, Anna is in ICU as of around noon today when Andrew, her husband, called me to update me. They have a wonderful family and church family that are there supporting them, but they could still use our prayers. We all have a picture in our mind of how perfect the birth day of each of our children should be and it doesn't always go that way. I know they will find their strength in God and will fully rely on him in during this time. I know how long she has waited on these babies and how excited she is to be a mom. I pray that she will soon be given the ok by the doctors and nurses to really enjoy being a mom!

My 3 Boys!

It's official, I am a boy mom. We found out on Monday that we are having our third son! We are excited! I have had lots of laughs and comments, but we love our boys so why not have a third? God knows what we need and he decided we needed another boy. Who can argue with God? Not me! We still have not even discussed names and when we do we will not tell. It is too fun to know something that everybody else wants to know! Besides, have you ever noticed that people feel very comfortable telling you that they don't like the name you picked out? People pick some weird ones, but hopefully no one would ever say to a child that they didn't like the child's name. Another thing I have been asked was if I was surprised. I was totally surprised that it was a boy. It just goes to show that each pregnancy is different and that has absolutely nothing to do with the sex of the baby. Of course after finding out I did a little shopping. Boy clothes are still harder to find than girl clothes and cute boy clothes are even harder to find. Do you know that I did not find one Carter's outfit for a baby boy in baby blue or light blue? Carter's has been the best and most popular baby brand for as long as I can remember and they don't even have any baby blue! It really was a crying shame. Some of you are htinking that my 3rd little boy doesn't even need baby clothes, but I promise you after two Lachina boys many things need to be retired. Besides, your first few outfits should be new to you! I have lots of ideas in my head of things I need to make for him. I better get busy!

Tomorrow!!!

Ok, so tomorrow is the big day. We find out the sex of the baby! Exciting! And yes we will be telling people the sex. People keep asking me if it matters if it is a boy or a girl and the answer is no. We would be happy with either a boy or a girl. The way I look at it is God doesn't give us a choice in the matter so why should I get an opinion. Only he knows what we need, although many have speculations. Another question we keep getting is are we going to tell a name this time. Well, to be quite honest we haven't even talked about names. Rush's name was a given. For those of you who have known me a long time you know that I always wanted to name a boy Rush so I did. I even did so despite my seminary friends saying I was naming my son after a Jewish holiday (Rosh Hoshanah). We had a girl name that we liked before we found out Mason was a boy so we altered it to be a boy name. We didn't even officially decide on the full name until days before he was born so what good did it do us to tell people. We have no names for either sex at this time and have chosen not to talk about it until we know what we need to talk about. We haven't talked about sharing the name before the birth or not, but I am pulling for not sharing. It was kind of fun watching people wonder. There were also some really good pictures taken in the waiting room on the hospital when Brian showed up at the glass window with Mason and a little card with his name on it. It would be even more fun if they didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. I would do it, but I am pretty sure somebody would let it slip. Besides I need to know if I need all new stuff or am good to go with some things I already have. I will say this, If it is a girl somebody is going to rack up on some boy stuff because I will be getting rid of things that we no longer need.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We started summer Mother's Day Out this week and once again we are busy, busy, busy! We are all enjoying having a little bit of a routine. It is fun to hang out with our friends and just have fun at school. Rush has become Mrs. Jo's helper and Mason is always excited to ride the Bye Bye Buggy. I am teaching K5 and it is a nice change of pace. We are having a great time!

Since it is Father's Day weekend we have a little bit of shopping to do. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with perfect gifts. I have plans, but we will see how they go over! Rush and Mason made special things for Daddy and Rush could not wait until Sunday, he already gave his to Brian. Mason has already forgotten that he made something, but hopefully he will remember on Sunday.

The countdown has begun! We go back to the doctor a week from Monday to find out what we are having! I'm excited to see. It really doesn't matter to us what we have as long as we have a happy, healthy baby.

Where have I been?

If I have had one person ask me I have had one hundred people ask me where I have been. Well , I have been at home feeling pregnant. I am a horrible pregnant person! As of right now I am 16 1/2 weeks pregnant and so far nothing about it is enjoyable, as usual. I am still sick frequently, nothing new there. I am going to assume that sickness will continue until I get out of the Operating Room following my C Section. So, currently I am looking forward to June 29th which is when we will find out the sex and I will be more than halfway to the end! I really wish I was one of those people who got to enjoy being pregnant, but unfortunately that isn't the case. I can say on a positive note that I am starting to regain my energy.

The boys are doing well and enjoying summer. We are looking forward to summer school starting next week to help fill our time. We all need a little change of scenery sometimes. Summer school also helps with consistency in their schedule and discipline. I will be teaching five year olds which will be a nice change of pace for me. Rush is going to have his same teacher from the school year whom we love and Mason is going to have different teachers that I don't know yet. We are looking forward to playing with Mason's friend Cooper on Friday, play days never revolve around him. Last week Rush got to have a play day with his buddies Jack and Jett. I owe many thanks to Sherri, Jack's mom, because she offered to have Rush come and play while I drove my sister to Huntsville to pick up a chair for my mom. Talk about fun times!

So, I have been a little busy!

It has been a while since I have had time to blog at all. Laura told me I need to do a better job, but I have just been so busy. If you check out my embroidery blog and you will understand why I haven't had any time.

Rush had a cute moment the other day at school. His class was making Christmas stars and he was working beside Mrs. Jo. They were talking about his star and he asked if they were going outside to throw them up to Jesus. She told him that she didn't think they could throw it that far, but that she was going to put her's on her tree and maybe he could too. He in turn said that he didn't think he could throw the tree that far! How sweet is he.

He is really learning the true meaning of Christmas and really talking about Jesus. His favorite new Christmas song is We Three Kings. He also enjoyed going to the "Nativity Zoo" at Mer's church with Ya Ya and Big Rush.

Mason has had a few mishaps this week. First he tackled me when I had a Qtip in my ear and it did a little damage to my ear on Wednesday. On Friday he got his finger smashed in the bathroom door and we had to make an emergency trip to the doctor. It wasn't broken, but who could have known when he screamed like that. Rush said it turned different colors. Just to clear things up Rush was obeying my closing the door and Mason was disobeying by running to the bathroom while Rush was in there. What teachable moments!

So, I have been a little busy!

Halloween

So Halloween has come and gone and I wonder who decided it would be a great idea to dress up the kids and go ask the neighbors for candy. Rush had to be Batman. It was not my first choice, but I am allowing him to make some choices at very specific times and this was one of those times. He told us weeks ago that he wanted to be a referee and all the sudden at the end of last week he wanted to be Batman who he knows nothing about. I figured that Batman was a good guy though not as cute and original as a referee, but I could live with that. I didn't get a whole lot of pics of him but everybody else did. I was answering the door during picture time. Hopefully that fam will send some over. Cousin Zachary was a pirate, argh! They went down all of our street and the next one and can I say we didn't really get any of my favorite candy! Oh yeah and we know every person on these two streets that has a dog and of course they had to ask to pet them. If you really want to be entertained for a time you should hang out with Rush and Zachary for any length of time. I am almost scared of what they will do when they are older!

Sweet Mason didn't really have a costume until late. He doesn't know about it yet so why make a big deal? He did have to have a costume though which is a problem in itself. The costumes you buy in the store are made for Halloween in places where it is cold and I have seen the day when little guys were sweating in their costumes but moms put them on anyway because she had already bought it and there had to be a costume. I thought about something like a scarecrow, or Bob the Builder or a fireman with the stuff that we already had, but no matter what I did I couldn't complete the outfit. So I got to thinking about Mason's favorite thing to do and decided that it was to eat and then I recalled that he loves to bang on my pots and pans and thus the cook was born. I made his apron in about five minutes and gave him a spoon and he loved it! The thing on his head was actually his bag for candy, but somebody put it on his head and he loved it, he didn't need candy anyway. THe bags were another story all together. We couldn't find our pumpkin buckets and of course I waited until the last minute and they were napping and that is too good to mess with. I called daddy for help and he said "can't you just make them something?" therefore the bags.

Mason's First Haircut

I finally took Mason to get his first haircut. In my opinion we have needed it for several weeks, but my mother completely disagreed. We all know that he was sporting a serious mullet! Unfortunately, the poor boy has my hair that is really fine with no texture or even the slightest wave. When he was in the bathtub the morning of his haircut, his wet hair reached below his shoulders. Just a week before a friend that I teach preschool with asked when he was getting a haircut because he looked like Terry Bradshaw. We were finally able to coordinate our first haircut with Mr. Thom who had been unable to work due to a broken leg. Please notice the wonderful posture that Mason has during this process. He didn't make a single complaint about it but was very happy to receive his sucker for being so good. The whole process took maybe 5 minutes!

From Mason v. We have been working on learning a few key verses. We really concentrate on the monthly Bible verse from preschool. Last month we talked about obedience in chapel at school so our verse was Ephesians 6:1, Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. I cannot think of a better verse for him to commit to memory at this time! Well, I am always asking him what the Bible says and this week I got my favorite answer yet. Rush told me, "The Bible says children obey your parents and tell somebody when you need to poop." He was as serious as he could be and it was all I could do to keep a straight face. I will be sure to remind him on this when he is older.

I was looking at my pics on the computer when I noticed several pics of the boys in the same outfits just two years apart. I thought it was kind of funny to see how different they look. Mason is about 4 months younger than Rush was when each of these outfits were worn. I would wake up every morning from a wonderful nights sleep and have all the energy in the world. Everyone else in the house would wake up on their own and happy and ready to start the day. Since I would be oh so organized clothes for the day would already be ironed and hanging in the closet, lunches would be packed, and my house would be immaculate because of course I would have time to clean it or money to pay someone to do so. Did I mention that this house we live in would be just a bit bigger with a yard, a playroom and a sewing room, and would also be in a location closer to our families and Brian's work? Brian would be off to work and I would take the kids to preschool while I spent the day taking care of things for my family, doing a little sewing, or indulging myself in something that I truly enjoy! We would come home at the end of our day and the kids would rest while I fix dinner that we would all enjoy and sit at the table to eat. We could enjoy family time just playing and enjoying being together. The kids would get baths and go to bed without a fight and I would get to spend time with my husband. That would be the life!

Truth be told, my life is so far from that that it is not even funny. I really love my life ,but I there seem to be a lot of less than perfect days lately. I'm not one to wish that things would be different, but I really have thought about it lately. I love my family so much, but I wish that they would all be healthy and happy just for a few days. There could be things that could be a bit easier. I guess it is the hard times that help shape us. I also know that it is during the hard times that we look more toward God and fully rely on him. He does carry us. He does get us through it, we just need to fully depend on him everyday and not just during the hard times. I'm guilty of that at times. I don't spend enough time praying and seeking God in my decisions. He has shown me that I need to do so more and that his plan is perfect. I just wish I perfectly understood.

Where does my time go?

I really did intend to do a good job of keeping things updated, but as you see that didn't happen. The Lachina family, everyone except me, has been sick and keeping me busy. We have started preschool and are keeping a very busy schedule. I don't really find time to do much that I want or need to do these days.

A little update on everyone... Brian has been battling some nasty sinus stuff for weeks and hopefully we will get it taken care of next week with a little minor surgical procedure since meds are not doing the trick.

Rush is growing up to fast. He is learning letter sounds and is trying to sound out words already. He got his first pair of New Balance tennis shoes which make him run very fast. At school their behavior chart is a slide with a mud puddle at the end and if you get in trouble you move your animal to the bottom and your second offense lands you in the mud puddle. He has been there twice I believe. Apparently he talks when he is supposed to be quiet and he has a hard time staying in his seat or in the line. I have to laugh because he is so me. Don't worry I don't let him see me laugh. He also has taken up a new hobby of playing games on the Playhouse Disney website. He figured it out all by himself.

Mason is the silliest little boy I ever saw. He is still sporting the mullet hairdo. I believe he is going to be sneaky! He has found great joy in playing inside the tent I make in the den with kitchen chairs and a quilt. Who would have thought that a blanket and chairs could be so fun! He has been battling a little sinus stuff like his daddy, but it hasn't slowed him down at all. He loves going to school and playing with his friends. I think it helps when you have all the teachers wrapped around your finger! He does have a new bad habit of hitting people with his lovey. I don't know that this happens to anyone but me and Rush, but that's enough.

Not much is going on with me. Just trying to stay ahead of the game and keep my house and life somewhat organized. I try at least!

It's that time again!

So it is that time again, Football Time! You many or may not know that We are a house divided. I am a hug Auburn fan as well as and Auburn Alum and Brian is a huge Alabama fan. We love each other despite our differences in football. This weekend starts it all. It is always interesting to see what the boys end up dressed in on game day. Whoever does the duty of dressing two boys gets to pick which team they are dressed for. Rush's friend Grace also comes from a house divided and she has this precious shirt that says Roll Eagle. I think I need to see what I can do about getting that into our wardrobe!

Bad Guys and Mullets

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gZ6fTO0_OwU/SK3NJsQfpOI/AAAAAAAAAG8/1b8Cm2DrcMY/s320/Professor+Darkness.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237067508084614370" />
Rush has gotten into some new toys these days. Things like Little People are fun for Mason and occasionally for Rush, but Rush is into action. He is all boy and doing what all little boys do, but that is still a little bit of an adjustment for me. He has gotten his first "bad guy" toy. His imagination is vivid to say the list. He also has decided that Buzz Lightyear is the best and loves to pretend to be him. He walks around using his imaginary laser to zap things. His once innocent Little People Lions now fight like Simba and Scar in the Lion King. Have you ever noticed how inappropriate Disney movies can be at times when it comes to preschoolers? Anyway, I guess I will be dealing with the bad guy thing for a long time.

A bad guy to Mason is anyone who takes away his food! That boy loves to eat! He is bigger than Rush was at his age. He is so content too. He loves to play and he will play with anything that has wheels for the longest time. He loves things that go. I need to get a picture up because you have got to see his mullet! He is sporting the red baby mullet! If he could just get it to grow on top he would have beautiful hair. I do have to say that Mason has one bad habit, he is a horrible sleeper!

Why?

Now that everybody in my family has given me a hard time about my pitiful blogs and FB page I am trying to get things going. I am trying to make it a point to keep things updated.

Last night and this morning I found myself asking why quite a few times. I know this is a question that gets asked everyday by many people and often goes unanswered. I, like most children, am not happy with the answer just because. I feel the need to share of the many times in the last 24 hours I have asked why.

We got a notice in the mail from Alabama Power saying they would be interrupting service in our area on Tuesday. We kept it and were prepared knowing that it would be a long and hot day here with two children and no power. But somehow things didn't happen according to my plan that morning. Why did the have to turn off the power to the neighborhood yesterday morning before I had my shower, ironed my clothes, ate breakfast, and checked my email? And why on the morning that I had a doctors appointment?

Yesterday afternoon we were back home with full power just hanging out. My house is clean because I had bunko here the night before. Otherwise that doesn't happen very often. Because I had had a house full of people the night before for dinner and bunko I purchased a bag of ice. We all know I love to crunch ice and I did not want to run out of ice after feeding 12 people. Publix only had 20 pound bags of ice, which is huge, but I bought it anyway. The big bag was causing issue in my freezer so I decided I would put it in smaller bags so I could get my freezer back to normal. I pulled the bag out and as I put it on the kitchen floor... Why did it have to break open spilling into my floor? Why did it have to melt so fast? Why did my children think it was so much fun to play in? The answer to that one really might be obvious.

My most recent why moment happened just this morning. The boys and I are just hanging out watching TV, playing, having a snack, watching a video email from Kristi about a Waffle House Wedding. Which by the way is worth watching.

http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/ftp/multimedia/waffleweddingx/publish_to_web/

Did I mention that we are doing all this while still in pajamas? Anyway, we are enjoying ourselves and the doorbell rings! Why? Of course they get all excited and Rush runs to the window to look out. So there is absolutely no hiding the fact that we are home and in our pajamas. I peeked out and knew immediately that it was two sweet ladies who happened to be Jehovah's Witnesses. What is a person to do? So I open the door a crack and stick my head out and apologize for being unable to open the door due to the fact that I am not properly dressed for company. So they ask me their questions and I give my answers trying to share my faith at the same time. All while I am very uncomfortably sticking my head out the door in my pajamas. Why didn't I get dressed already and why aren't they noticing that this is awkward.

A few more why questions to ponder?

Why does Mason think that the rocks in the fireplace are so much fun to put in his mouth?

Why does Rush have to have a new cup, bowl or plate every time he needs a snack or drink?

Why is it that my kitchen floor can't stay clean?

My First Blog Entry!

I have finally decided to get with the program and make my own blog!
